I am a PhD candidate at the University of California, Irvine and will earn my PhD in Learning, Cognition and Development in the spring of 2014. My work focuses on the cognitive skills and motivations that influence learning, especially in mathematics and within digital environments.

My work is informed by my background in education and educational technology  (BS in Elementary Education with a concentration in computers from Florida International University), cognitive psychology (coursework and research at University of Texas, Austin) and law (JD from Boston University school of law).
I strive to conduct meaningful research  relevant and translatable to policy-makers and practitioners and that is at the intersection of Educational Psychology, Mathematics Education, and Learning Technology, drawing on and contributing to each .
